Mountain biking in the solitude of the mountains, rag-dollin' trying to ride another wave, earning his ethereal powder turns... Harookz digs life in the elements. Life as a photographer enables him to maintain a happy distance away from the routine nine to five. Within a short amount of time Haruki Noguchi or better known as Harookz, has become one of the most well regarded photographers in the bike scene. He's always stoked and is probably one of the busiest people out there, yet somehow he still manages to find time to ride his bike or go surfing.
From studio lit street shots to naturally lit stills in the mountains, his diverse style continues to evolve by the minute, leaving you wondering about his next new image.

Yorick spent his youth in the Engadin, Switzerland where he discovered his love for mountain sports at an early age. Therefore it goes without saying that he started to explore the High Alpine on his snowboard. He also participated in mountain bike races during the early nineties.
After his Photo Design studies he worked as an assistant in Frankfurt, Düsseldorf and Hamburg. During this time he became proficient in many fields of photography, including Advertising, Still-life, People and Fashion. In 1995 he decided to combine his love for mountaineering and extreme sports with professional photography. After 7 years in Munich he now works out of Whistler, B.C., dividing his photography talent between magazine spreads and advertising departments worldwide.
His photography and expeditions have taken him to Nepal, Africa, Canada, the Iran and to the Caucasus in Russia. It was when he understood that combining his main hobby with photography it became clear to him; mountainbiking is a great way to exploit creativity not only by pedals, but also through a lens. And of course the same goes for skiing, snowboarding, skateboarding and other activities that he enjoys.
The passion for nature and the great outdoors in general, makes Joakim really stoked every time he is out doing a shoot in natural elements. But who can complain about an office in the mountains that never looks the same?
After working as a press photographer combined with going to school taking a degree in photography, Joakim now enjoys mixing the documentary way of seeing a situation with the traditional action sport way.
His style is various, and he probably likes working with natural light as much as he likes trying new things with studio lit shots in the urban jungle.
